This year, GitHub Universe will take place virtually October 27-28. To kick the conference off, we’re thrilled on behalf of GitHub Social Impact to start the week with micro-mentoring sessions!
As part of our ongoing commitment to ensure GitHub’s conferences are accessible and inclusive to people from all walks of life, we’re offering 30-minute, 1:1 micro-mentoring sessions with GitHub employees. This is an opportunity to engage with industry experts on career pathing. From resume feedback, to goal planning and skill development, this is a time for like-minded individuals to connect both personally and professionally.
Last year, attendees had the following to say about their experience with the sessions:
“It was great! My mentor was amazing and very helpful. He really helped me hone in on specific goals and how to move forward in my job search.”
“Everything went well, and I even ended up feeling a little more confident about myself after talking with my mentor! He was kind and patient (given the fact that English is not my first language). Now in our third year of this programming, we’re eager to partner with GitHub employees, community members, local nonprofits, and meetup groups to bring a more rich, dynamic, and creative experience for everyone in attendance. We hope to see you there! Apply by October 18.
