Update to GitHub Copilot consumptive billing experience

Monthly premium request allowances for paid GitHub Copilot users are now in effect.

What’s changed: The monthly allowance of premium requests per user for Copilot Pro, Pro+, Business, and Enterprise plans is now enforced. Premium requests can be used with a selection of additional AI models and features. Usage varies by model.

What’s unchanged: All paid plans include unlimited use of GPT-4.1 and GPT-4o for agent mode and chat interactions, in addition to unlimited code completions. Rate limits may apply across all models.

Managing premium requests:

• Monthly allowances: Allowances reset on the 1st of each month. For this first billing cycle, all premium request counters have been reset to zero.
• Pay-Per-Request option: To access more premium requests beyond your allowance, you can set a spending limit in your billing settings. The default limit is $0.
• Usage + billing controls: You can monitor your premium request usage in real-time from the Copilot status icon in your IDE or download detailed usage reports from your billing settings. Users with licenses from multiple organizations can select which entity to bill.
