Increasing GitHub Enterprise Importer’s repository size limits

You can now migrate significantly larger repositories to GitHub Enterprise Cloud using GitHub Enterprise Importer. With the rise of monorepo development, migrating large codebases has become increasingly important. To address this, GitHub Enterprise Importer has introduced higher repository size limits as a public preview:

  • GitHub repositories: Increased both the git and metadata archive size limits from 20GB to 40GB.
  • Bitbucket Server repositories: Increased archive size limit from 20GB to 40GB.
  • Azure DevOps Cloud repositories: Increased git repository size limit from 20GB to 40GB.
  • GitLab repositories (in preview): Increased archive size limit from 20GB to 40GB.
