GitHub Desktop 1.6 release

The GitHub Desktop 1.6 release includes three important improvements:

  • When there are no uncommitted changes for your repository, Desktop now offers helpful suggestions based on what you’re doing to help you keep momentum.
  • When you first download Desktop, we guide you through adding your first repository to help you get to work more quickly.
  • If you don’t have Git LFS set up and you’re about to commit a file larger than 100MB, Desktop will now warn you so you’re not stuck and unable to push it to GitHub.
